Classical Conversations End-of-Year Event!

jackson just wrapped up his first year in classical conversations, a home-schooling group which meets once a week. he did very well, and even received an award for knowing all his history sentences and latin conjugations... he's a smart boy!

our housechurch also recently took part in a city-wide event called "sharefest". churches all across the city did different projects around okc... we picked up trash at a park close to our house and handed out hotdogs!

time flies...

wow... time sure is flying this spring... and not because there is a tornado blowing it around... which is very likely this time of year in oklahoma.

anyway, we had a good easter... funny story:

on easter sunday, jackson and parker were riding their bikes at their grandparent's house and a nieghbor's dog (which should have been confined... city rules) ran out and charged at the boys and actually ripped off one of parker's shoes (new crocs... he was very sad it got ripped) which caused him to fall off of his bike. luckily, he didn't get hurt or attacked any further! angie's dad and i were both in the road watching them ride bikes when all of this happened, so we were there to "rescue" him. anyway, angie's dad was pretty upset and instantly called animal control and reported the dog as a "vicious animal". after only having to make several calls and two days later, the "vicious" dog was picked up (still unconfined... even though they knew what had happened) and taken to "jail". then, this is when it gets funny, randy (angie's dad), parker, and myself all receive subpoenas and had to go to court this past monday. it was no big deal, no lawsuits or anything. basically, since randy called in the vicious dog report, the owner had to go before a judge to get his dog back and see what kind of fine he had to pay, etc. since we're the ones that reported and witnessed the incident, we had to be there, too. so, all ended well: the dog gets to go back home (as long as it stays confined), parker got to experience the legal system of the city of oklahoma city, and i got to get out of work for half a day. and... this better be the first and last time parker gets a subpoena and has to go to court!

i'm also adding a little movie clip of the boys riding their bikes... this was only one day after parker got his training wheels off! i'm so proud! we also just got a new digital video camera, so i'll be adding much more video from time to time... in good quality (unlike this one with a little dinky camera i picked up on clearance... now i know why it was on clearance.) enjoy.
